Annual Sports Day

The Annual Sports Day, one of the most exciting events of the year was held on 24th August 2017.The six houses had their tents pitched on the field decorated beautifully with colours representing their respective houses with each house having a mascot of their choice.

The sports day begins with the thunderous footsteps of the girls marching to the beats of the band. The chief guest, Mr.Sharath Gayakwad an Indian Paralympics Swimmer, declared the sports meet open and addressed the gathering. Mr.Sharath shared his experiences and also encouraged the young athletes “to work hard and be consistent”.

The chief guest’s address was followed by the lighting of the torch after which both inter- school and inter-house races were conducted.Students who excelled in state and national level were given special awards.

The drill by the middle as well as the senior school was well appreciated by the spectators. At the close of the day, Waller House emerged as winners, followed by Maiden house in the second place and Elmes House in the third place. The day came to an end with the jubilant Waller House leading the closing march past followed by the sports flag being lowered to the tune of the hymn ‘ Abide with me’.
